MACD-v: Volatility Normalised Momentum | A twice-Awarded Indicator
- In 2015 Alex created a new and novel momentum indicator, that would solve the short-comings of range-bound oscillators (RSI, Stochastics, etc), and unbound indicators (MACD, RoC, etc), by creating a new hybrid momentum indicator that overcome these shortcomings whilete retaining their advantages. The new indicator is MACD-v, which overcame the 5 flaws of the classic MACD. In 2022 he decided to publicly disclose his research via a paper "MACD-v: Volatility Normalised Momentum" It was awarded: 1. The NAAIM “Founders Award”, for advances in Active Investment Management (2022) 2. The CMT Association “Charles H. Dow Award”, for outstanding research in Technical Analysis (2022). Now it is being incorporated in major Technical Analysis platforms (Tradingview, MT4, Metastock, StockCharts, etc).
